On October 13, a delegation of 10 people led by Chairman and Party Secretary Lv Yunqiang of State Grid Hebei Electric Power Company, including Office Director Chen Xiangyu, Human Resources Department Director Zhang Qian, Equipment Department Director Zhou Wenbo, and Technology Department Director Yang Peng, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) for discussions and exchanges. Wu Wenchuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA, accompanied the delegation on a tour of EEA’s historical exhibition hall and the National Key Laboratory. Deputy Director Lu Chao, Deputy Secretary Zheng Zedong, and Assistant Director Hu Wei were also present.

During the discussion, Lv Yunqiang expressed gratitude for the long-term support from EEA and provided an overview of the basic situation of State Grid Hebei Electric Power Company. He emphasized that Tsinghua University is a world-renowned first-class institution and a traditional powerhouse in the field of electrical engineering in China. EEA has a strong faculty, high-quality teaching, and significant social influence, making outstanding contributions to the development of the country’s energy and power industry. The company has maintained a good university-enterprise relationship with EEA, achieving remarkable cooperation results in scientific research, academic development, and talent cultivation. Currently, the company is in a historical opportunity period for leapfrog development, with outstanding regional advantages, major strategic overlays, and broad development space. Lv expressed hope for establishing a regular exchange and cooperation mechanism between the two parties, deepening innovation cooperation in research and development, enhancing personnel training and exchanges, and taking the good cooperative relationship to new heights.

Wu Wenchuan warmly welcomed the visit from State Grid Hebei Electric Power Company. He stated that the power grid is an essential infrastructure and a crucial part of the national energy supply system. The development of electric power in Hebei has made significant contributions to the economic and social development of the province, providing a broad stage for the talents of university faculty and students. EEA has a strong faculty, robust research capabilities, and outstanding innovation capabilities. It has cultivated numerous outstanding talents and maintains a close cooperative relationship with Hebei Electric Power. The future cooperation prospects are broad. Wu Wenchuan hoped that both sides would consolidate past cooperation foundations, further enrich the content of cooperation, expand the scope of cooperation, cultivate more cooperative achievements in major project research, and promote deeper and higher-level cooperation between the university and the enterprise. Lu Chao introduced the discipline construction and the latest scientific research progress of EEA and the National Key Laboratory of the New Type Power System, emphasizing the organized research activities under the “One Department, Two Institutes, One Office and One Alliance” framework. Zheng Zedong provided information on student enrollment, training, and employment in EEA. Subsequently, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions and reached preliminary cooperation intentions.
