At the awarding ceremony

The Baosteel Education Award, with the principle of “rewarding and nurturing outstanding talents, respecting teachers, promoting industry-academia collaboration, and supporting educational development”, is one of the most renowned national education awards. It is exclusively funded by Baosteel, guided by government support, planned by expert consultations, and actively participated in by universities. Professor Yu Xinjie’s recognition with the award is a high acknowledgment of his commitment to professional ethics, dedication to teaching, love for students, and outstanding contributions to educational reform at the forefront.

Yu Xinjie, the head of the circuit principles course at Tsinghua University, has been teaching for over 20 years and has consistently been on the frontline of education. He is loyal to the party’s educational cause, has been a pioneer in innovation, and has led educational and teaching reforms. He has achieved remarkable results in areas such as MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) development, blended teaching reform, ideological and political education in courses, and the construction of virtual teaching and research labs. In 2023, he led a project that received a national-level teaching achievement second prize. He has previously been honored with awards such as the National Teaching Master, Outstanding Teaching Award, Henry Fok Education and Teaching First Prize, and the Beijing Teaching Master Award.
