Recently, Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering announced the winners of the 2023 Electric Power Technology Prize.

The project “Key Technologies and Systems for Comprehensive Energy Management of Multi-Energy Flows”, led by Professor Sun Hongbin from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA), Tsinghua University, received the first prize for Electric Power Technology Invention.

Project “Key Technologies, Equipment, and Applications for Power Invitation Response and Secure Supply for Millions of Residential Users” led by Prof. Kang Chongqing, Project “Basic Theory, Key Technologies, and Applications of Wide-Band Large-Range High-Voltage Magneto-Electric Sensors” led by Prof. He Jinliang, and Project “Key Technologies, Device Development, and Applications for Synchronous Phase Measurement and Operation Control in Complex Distribution Networks”, in which Prof. Lu Chao participated, were granted the first prize for Electric Power Technology Progress.

Projects in which Professor Chen Qixin participated, focusing on "Key Technical Research and Engineering Application of Spot Market Interaction in Complex Large Power Grids," and Associate Professor Chen Lei's involvement in the project "Technological Research on Coordinated Scheduling Control of Electric-Thermal Multi-Level Systems for Promoting Flexible and Efficient Operation of Power Systems" received the second prize for Electric Power Technology Progress.

Project “Coordination of Green and Safe Power Supply Regulation Technology and Application for the Beijing Winter Olympics Source Transmission and Distribution Load”, in which Ph. D. Lin Chenhui participated, Project “Comprehensive Monitoring, Real-Scene Testing, and Digital Simulation Involved Network Test System, Equipment, and Applications for Offshore Wind Power”, in which Prof. Shen Chen Participated, and Project “Key Technologies, Equipment, and Applications for the Large-scale Distributed Photovoltaic Control with Limited Measurement”, in which Associate Prof. Lu Zongxiang participated, were granted the third prize for Electric Power Technology Progress.

In addition, Prof. Xie Xiaorong from EEA received the “Award for Outstanding Contribution to Electric Power Science and Technology”; Associate Prof. Zhang Ning, Zhou Yuanxiang, and Cheng Lin received the “Award for Outstanding Electric Power Technologist”; and Associate Prof. Ji Shiqi received the “Award for Outstanding Young Electric Power Technology Talent”.

The Electric Power Technology Prize is given by CSEE in accordance with the provisions of the “Regulations on Electric Power Science and Technology Awards”. The awards are determined through evaluation by the Electric Power Science and Technology Award Review Committee and approval by the Award Committee. In 2023, a total of 8 Electric Power Technology Invention Awards, 116 Electric Power Science and Technology Progress Awards, and 110 Electric Power Science and Technology Person Awards were presented.
