On June 26, the 2024 Tsinghua University Staff Basketball Tournament concluded successfully. The basketball team from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA) emerged victorious, winning the championship among 26 participating teams. Teacher Wang Lei, Vice Chairman of the University Trade Union, presented the championship trophy to the team.

The tournament kicked off on June 3, featuring two divisions: Group A (departments) and Group B, with a total of 39 labour unions and over 400 staff members participating. The EEA team advanced to the top eight with a perfect record of six wins in the group stage. In the knockout rounds, they defeated the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology and then the School of Environment in the semifinals, securing a spot in the final. During the final match, the team exhibited unity and resilience against strong defensive plays from the opposing team. Both inside and outside players delivered outstanding performances, frequently earning applause from the audience. After intense competition, the team defeated the Department of Electronic Engineering to claim the championship!
