About the Author :

Seung-Jae LEE was born in Seoul, Korea and received his BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, Korea and his Ph.D. from University of Washington, Seattle, USA. Since 1988, he has been with Myongji University, Korea as a Professor at the department of Electrical Engineering. Currently he is a director of Next-generation Power Technology Center (NPTC) and chairman of IEC TC-57 Korea Committee, Korea and Editor in Chief of JICEE (Journal of International Council on Electrical Engineering). He was a visiting professor University of Washington, USA and University of Hokkaido, Japan. He was the first chairman of Power System Protection and Control Engineering Society in Korea and a chairman of IEEE PES Korea chapter. He is a founder of International Conference on Advanced Power system Automation and Protection (APAP) that started in 2004. His main research fields are protection relaying, substation automation and distribution automation.
