報告内容:
Penetration of advanced sensor systems such as advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), high-frequency overhead and underground current and voltage sensors have been increasing significantly in power distribution systems over the past few years. It is estimated that the electric utilities around the world will spend $10.1 billion on automated metering infrastructure (AMI) data analytics solutions through 2021. The electricity usage data collected through AMI in the U.S. alone amounted to well above 100 terabytes in 2012.
To unleash full value of the complex data sets, innovative big data algorithms need to be developed to transform the way we operate and plan for the distribution system. This talk covers the important big data analytics applications in power distribution systems including topology identification, spatio-temporal load forecasting, renewable adoption forecasting, three-phase state estimation, and energy theft detection.
At last, Dr. Nanpeng Yu will cover a few more research frontiers in smart grid including, smart cities and smart energy communities, energy storage systems, water-energy nexus, and green computing.
