On October 10, Professor Bob Cryan, President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and President of the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics (EEA). The reception was hosted by Yu Xinjie, the Secretary of the Party Committee of EEA, and the meeting was chaired by Zheng Zedong, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the department. The two parties exchanged views on further expanding cooperation.

During the symposium, Yu Xinjie welcomed Professor Bob Cryan’s visit on behalf of EEA and reviewed the historical cooperation between the department and the IET. He expressed that the two sides have maintained a strong cooperative relationship for a long time, organizing activities such as the “Electrical Engineering Graduate Academic Forum,” co-hosting academic journals, and the ACDC international conference. He hoped to continue promoting cooperation in education and facilitating exchanges between faculty and students.
Professor Bob Cryan expressed gratitude for the reception and introduced the global development of the IET and the relevant situation at the University of Huddersfield in the UK. Paulo Lopes, Head of IET China, introduced the business and development of IET in China.
Subsequently, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as international conferences, journal publications, student exchanges, and possibilities for new business cooperation.
