On the morning of March 26, the kickoff and implementation plan review meeting for the national key R&D program “Industrial Software” focused on the "Multi-Time-Scale Industrial Simulation Software for Motor Equipment and Systems” project, led by Tsinghua University with Researcher Yuan Liqiang as the project leader, was successfully held in Beijing. The project involves several units, including Suzhou Tongyuan Soft Control Information Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Goldwind Sci-Tech Wind Power Equipment Co., Ltd., Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Beijing Donghua BiTech-IoT Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Jingyuan Shuyu Technology Co., Ltd., and CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute Co., Ltd., forming a collaborative team that integrates electrical engineering and industrial software with close cooperation among industry, university, research, and application.

Project Kickoff Meeting

The meeting was held at Beijing Xijiao Hotel and was chaired by Yuan Liqiang. Cao Lipeng, Project Supervisor of Tsinghua University Research Office, and Zheng Zedong, Deputy Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Electronics, Tsinghua University delivered speeches. The expert panel included Professor Tao Fei, Executive Deputy Director of the International Academy of Interdisciplinary Sciences at Beihang University (project responsibility expert), Professor Xu Chengdong from Beijing Institute of Technology, Chief Engineer Gu Bin from Beijing Institute of Control Engineering, Researcher Qin Ming, Director of the New Energy Innovation Center at the Science and Technology Research Institute of China Three Gorges Corporation, Researcher Xing Tao, Director of the Information Center of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Researcher Wang Youlong from the Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Zhang Yongchang, Deputy Director of the Engineering Research Center for Power Energy Conservation at North China Electric Power University. More than 30 related staff members from the project undertakers attended the meeting.

The project team provided a detailed report on the implementation plan of the “Multi-Time-Scale Industrial Simulation Software for Motor Equipment and Systems” project, covering the project background and technical challenges, research content and task breakdown, research methods and technical routes, assessment indicators and evaluation methods, implementation plan and ongoing work, organizational management, and budget.

The attending experts conducted a thorough discussion on the project implementation plan, fully affirming the overall plan and technical route. They also provided valuable opinions and suggestions for the project’s advancement and implementation, considering the project management requirements.

Project leader’s report

Project overview:

The integration of motors and power electronics has formed a new generation of motor equipment and systems, which have become crucial to the national economy. Industrial simulation software is a fundamental tool for analyzing and designing motor equipment and systems. With the significant increase in complexity and system scale due to the extensive introduction of power electronics, time scales have expanded to the nanosecond level. This has led to issues such as divergence in multi-time-scale solutions, slow computation speeds for large-scale systems, difficulty in multidisciplinary model collaboration, and lack of collaborative innovation and sharing. The project aims to develop multi-time-scale industrial simulation software for motor equipment and systems, focusing on key technologies such as simulation and modeling, to support the independent innovation and development of motor equipment and systems in critical fields like new energy generation and rail transportation.
