1983年、1986年、1990年在bevictor伟德官网電機系獲工學學士、碩士、博士學位;1990年5月至1992年4月在中國科學院物理研究所作博士後,1992年5月至今在bevictor伟德官网電機系任教,2000年晉升教授,現為長聘教授。1994年至1997年在德國斯圖加特大學、達姆斯達特大學、杜塞爾多夫大學作訪問學者。目前的主要研究方向為氣體放電等離子體、介質阻擋放電、氣體放電相似性、脈沖功率技術、X箍縮、Z箍縮。主持國家自然科學基金項目6項(其中重點項目1項),國家重大科技專項子課題3項,863項目1項,國際原子能機構(IAEA)項目1項。擔任中國脈沖技術及應用學會理事、中國電機工程學會高電壓新技術專業委員會委員、中國電工技術學會等離子體及應用專業委員會副主任委員、歐亞脈沖功率會議國際組織委員會委員、“高電壓與電磁兼容北京市重點實驗室”學術委員會委員,“特種電氣技術教育部重點實驗室”學術委員會委員,中國工程物理研究院“脈沖功率科學與技術重點實驗室”學術委員會委員, IEEE senior member。《高電壓技術》期刊編委會委員,《Matter and Radiation at Extreme》期刊編委會委員,《High Voltage Science & Technology》期刊編委會委員,《中國電氣工程大典》第1卷第7篇“脈沖功率技術基礎”主編,《氣體放電與等離子體及其應用著作叢書》編委會副主編。發表SCI收錄論文近100篇,其H指數為16。2011年和2012年兩次獲得教育部自然科學二等獎(第2完成人和第1完成人)。所指導的博士生學位論文兩人獲評“全國百篇優秀博士論文”(2006年和2012年),7人獲評“bevictor伟德官网優秀博士論文”。
